Kuwait is on the brink of expanding its aviation sector with the potential launch of two new private jet companies, according to a report by local Arabic daily Al-Rai. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is currently reviewing separate applications submitted by two investors aiming to establish private aviation services in the country.
Each proposed company targets a distinct clientele: one will cater exclusively to VIPs and high-end travelers seeking luxury air travel, while the other aims to provide cost-effective private jet services for business owners and affluent individuals looking for more economical options.
Both investors have already received preliminary approval from the General Directorate of Civil Aviation to operate private jet services, distinct from commercial or regular airline operations. The applications have now been forwarded to the Ministry of Commerce for final evaluation, including assessments of authorized and paid-up capital requirements.
One of the investors is reportedly ready to launch operations immediately upon receiving the green light from the ministry, with aircraft already prepared for service. Discussions with the second investor are ongoing, and their operational license is expected to follow at a later stage.
This development is anticipated to invigorate Kuwait’s private aviation market, providing tailored travel experiences that allow clients to choose their destinations, including private airports, according to their needs.
Private jet charter rates in Kuwait are expected to range from approximately $1,000 to $25,000 per hour, depending on aircraft type, services requested, and the specifics of each flight route.
With these new entrants, Kuwait’s business and luxury travel sectors are poised for significant growth, offering more flexible and personalized air travel solutions.
