Kuwait police thwarted a major cyber attack operations targeting telecommunications towers in the country and arrested a group of Chinese gang behind this operations.
Interior Ministry announced that the suspects were arrested following investigations after local authorities received complaints from local banks and telecommunications companies who were subjected to cyber attacks. The suspects used high-tech devices to infiltrate the network.
Police were able to track the signal which led them to a vehicle in Farwaniya. They arrested the suspect inside the vehicle and found high-tech devices inside. He then led them to his residence where more devices were found, and then led police to his accomplices who were also put under arrest, the ministry explained.
