Kuwait planning to vaccinate all without imposing fees

The Ministry of Health is working on the mechanism to receive the Pfizer vaccine for Corona and other vaccines by end of this year and first quarter of 2021.

According to Al-Qabas Arabic daily report, Kuwait is in principle agreed to import of about one million doses of the Pfizer vaccine, one million and 700 thousand doses of Moderna vaccine, and 3 million doses of "Oxford-AstraZeneca". Importing about 5.7 million doses of Corona vaccines, if approved globally, is sufficient for about 2.8 million people residing in the country, daily added.

The daily, quoting sources, ruled out imposing fees on residents to receive Corona vaccines.

Priority for Corona vaccinations will be for the frontline workers and Kuwaiti citizens before targeting the residents. Elderly people, people with special needs, medical staff and nursing staff in health facilities and various frontline workers will be given vaccines in their early stages, before focusing to other groups, report added.
