Kuwait opens citizen to work as a trainer at driving schools

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anas Al-Saleh issued Ministerial Decree to amend some of the provisions and open the field for Kuwaitis to engage in the activity of teaching driving vehicles according to the established conditions.

Minister amended the articles related to obtaining a permit to teach driving a motor vehicle. According to the new rule, the teacher must have obtained a diploma - two-year study after high school - or its equivalent and has sufficient knowledge and ability to explain the traffic laws. The trainer must have a two year of private driving license followed by another year of general driving license. He must be fluent in both Arabic and English in writing and speaking; however, for technical teaching, conversation knowledge is enough.

The applicant must be of good conduct and has not been previously convicted of any crime.

A Kuwaiti citizen may be granted a permit to practice driving with some conditions which includes good behaviour and have not been previously convicted of any crime. The rule also says that he must be conversant with the English language. He must undergo a medical examination every year to verify his health fitness.

The rule also gives a temporary training permit to a Kuwaiti citizen to train his relative or family member.

The rule also amends some provisions to establish a company or institution for learning to drive motorized vehicles.
