Kuwait airport receives first batch of Kuwaiti evacuees from corona hit Iran; All evacuees are in good health

All expats who visited Iran over the past two weeks will not be allowed to enter the country, even if they have valid visas.

The General Directorate of Civil Aviation (GDCA) announced the arrival of the first flight of Kuwaiti Airways carrying nationals stranded in Iran after suspending all flights from and to the country due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah said all Kuwaiti nationals, who arrived from Iran aboard the first evacuation flight amid concerns over new coronavirus, are in good health and high spirits. Sheikh Dr. Basel said the health authorities verified that all arrivals are free from the new coronavirus (COVID-19) or any other communicable diseases.

GDCA Director General Abdulaziz Al-Fawzan said that the flight landed in the Kuwait International Airport Sheikh Saad Terminal 3 at 18:00 local time with 130 passengers on board. This is one of five flights planned by the authority to evacuate Kuwaitis who are stranded in Iran following the suspension of flights.

The authority said that all expats who visited Iran over the past two weeks will not be allowed to enter the country, even if they have valid visas. Kuwaiti citizens, who visited Iran during the same period, will be put in quarantine at special health facilities.

The authority also called on all citizens to postpone travel to Iran, until further notice.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health has re-affirmed on Saturday that there were no cases of novel coronavirus (COVID19) infections in the country.

The minister denied as "totally untrue" the rumors, circulated on social media websites, on alleged COVID-19 infections in the country.

Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basil Al-Sabah has announced that his ministry is monitoring closely the latest updates about new coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and has taken firm precautionary and preventive measures to counter the epidemic. Mashhad.

Dear all this is my advise is corona virus already exists in middle east to avoid in Kuwait so there should be preventive actions and need more awareness programs mainly at all crowed areas and gathering places. thanks

I saw some pics of Kuwaiti ladies coming from Iran, with their mask covering only their mouth but with all nose exposed..
Atleast someone should enlighten them how to use mask.

Pray that corona virus cases will not surface in India. Or else they will stop Indians returning to Kuwait
