The Al-Ajari Scientific Center has announced that the Twaiba season will end on July 3, marking the beginning of the "First Gemini" season, which will last for 13 days until July 15. This period is expected to bring the most intense heat of the year, especially during daytime hours.
According to the center, the First Gemini season is known for its extremely high temperatures, intense dryness, and hot samum winds, which increase the feeling of scorching heat. It is sometimes referred to as "Al-Haq’ah" in the solar and lunar calendars due to its harsh weather conditions.
The center explained that during this time, the sun begins to move southward toward the equator after reaching its highest northern point during the summer solstice. This shift, known as “the turning away,” marks the beginning of the sun’s descent, as the length of night gradually increases and daylight hours begin to shorten slightly.
This seasonal transition is a clear signal of blazing summer conditions, and residents are advised to take precautions against heat and dryness as drought conditions are expected to intensify.
