Kuwait Ambassador to India Meshal Mustafa Alshemali underlined on Sunday keenness of Kuwaiti people on humanitarian activities after participating in a charity bazaar in New Delhi.
In a statement to KUNA, Ambassador Alshemali said that Kuwait participated in an annual charity bazaar organized by Delhi Commonwealth Women's Association in New Delhi for women's charity in cooperation with diplomatic missions accredited in India and under the supervision of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
The Embassy of Kuwait contributed with a large and distinctive pavilion that contained many diverse local products, including Kuwaiti foods, food supplies, sweets, antiques, perfumes, in addition to Kuwaiti folk costumes. Alshemali said that bazar proceeds will be allocated to support charitable works, including providing support to needy families and orphanages, providing school supplies, and contributing to medical treatment.
The Ambassador added that the political leadership, government and people of Kuwait have always been known for doing good works to the extent that humanitarian charitable work has become one of the most prominent features of Kuwaiti society. The ambassador also praised the role of Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its support for the embassy's efforts in making the events it participates in a success.
A large number of Arab and foreign embassies in the capital, New Delhi, participated in the charity bazaar by displaying their various and different local products.
