Kuwait Airways offers 7 per cent discount in fares for non-resident Malayalis

Norka Roots - a Kerala Government PSU that implements the state's welfare schemes for non-resident Keralites and Kuwait Airways signed memorandum of understanding to offer 7 % discount on base price for any Keralite booking ticket on Kuwait Airways flight.

The MoU was signed between Norka Roots CEO Harikrishnan Namboodiri and Sudheer Mehta, Kuwait Airways Sales Manager in presence of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. This will be a great relief for the expatriate Malayalees living in the Gulf region, chief minister tweeted after the event..

Non-resident Keralites traveling on Kuwait Airways will receive a 7% discount on basic travel fare. This benefit, known as Norka Fair, is available to both NORKA ID card expatriates, spouses and children under 18. NORKA Fair will be a relief to those who have suffered from high seasonal travel rates for the expatriates who are the backbone of the country’s economy.

NORKA ROOTS ID card holders will receive this special benefit from February 20th. Earlier NORKA Roots had signed similar MoU with Oman Airways.

The function was held at the Chief Minister’s Office. Non-resident Malayalees can book their tickets through Kuwait Airways’ website and through the airline’s sales offices in India.

The Chief Executive Officer of the company said that the promo code NORKA20 could be used for this purpose. More information can be obtained from Norka Roots toll-free number 1800 425 3939 (from India) and 00918802012345 (Missed Call Service from abroad).

PEOPLE why making so much noise.. forget mallus...there is another way to get 10% discount on Kuwait Airways.. i am sure many people are having NBK credit or prepaid cards. Go to Kuwait Airways website and click on the NBK promo and enter your NBK card while booking. you can travel till July 1st. and if you don''t have it, it cost 10KD only to make in any NBK branch in 2 days. so if you have a family ticket 10% is good amount. you can use multiple times on all kuwait airways routes around the world...good luck

Kuwait Airways is not alone. Oman Air already implemented their discount to mallus. I dont know how mallus become their favorites? I heard that Emirates also planning to do the same. Kuwait Air and Oman Air CEOs may be mallus.

Wonder why all these folks are venting their frustrations here.. NORKA is a Kerala govt entity which works for the benefit of Malayalees. IF your respective state governments or central govt. (for those who live and breathe by them) don''t care about you folks, that''s your problem, not ours !! What you vote for, is what you get.
Why do you think people say, ''vote responsibly''.

It has nothing to do with discrimination. It is only a discount for NORKA Card members
Many products gives discount for various cards. same way, KU is giving discount for Norka Card holders. That is all

The system in kerala thinks that it is not bound to INDIA. Kerala has its own way of handling the circumstances and they dont need the central support for any of the activities.
