Kuwait successfully repatriated 334 of its citizens from Iran on Saturday morning through a special evacuation flight operated by Kuwait Airways.
The flight marked the first airlift initiative aimed at bringing home citizens stranded in the Iranian city of Mashhad. The complex evacuation journey began with the citizens being transported by bus from Mashhad to Turkmenistan, followed by a flight to Kuwait’s Terminal 4 (T4), where their families and loved ones eagerly awaited their return. The entire journey lasted approximately 25 hours.
The operation was carried out following extensive efforts by Kuwait’s political and governmental leadership to ensure the safe return of its nationals, overcoming numerous logistical challenges.
Many of the returning citizens expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Kuwaiti leadership, government authorities, and diplomatic corps for their tireless efforts and continuous support.
