Kin of deceased Indian heading to Kuwait to bring back body

Relative of Garu Pundalic Naique, who passed away in Kuwait last week has been identified and is heading to Kuwait to complete the necessary formalities to send his body to India.

Mr Garu Pundalic Naique, who was living in Kuwait and has never gone to India for vacation for the last 26 years, passed away in Kuwait due to heart attack. The lone friend of him, a Pakistani staying in his next door, have no contact about his relatives or friend in India. This made the authorities and Indian embassy difficult to process his mortal remains.

Indiansinkuwait.com had published the news report about this incident last week. After the news went on Internet, the family of Garu Pundalic Naique was informed about this incident.

“We got to know when someone informed us about the incident. My son Sagar has now gone to complete the necessary formalities to bring his body back,” a local Goan newspaper 'Herald' reported quoting Rohidas Naik, the elder brother of the deceased. The daily 'Herald', quoting Rohidas, also added that the it was her Aunt, who was working in Kuwait took Garu Naique to Kuwait around 37 years back and since then, he was working in Kuwait. However, Naique, for personal reasons, had lost contact with his family back in Goa after the death of that Aunt.

The relatives had already contacted the NRI Commissioner of Goa Narendra Sawaikar for assistance and is collecting all the authenticated documents, which are required to complete the required formalities, following which they will coordinate with the Indian Embassy in Kuwait.

Garu Pundalic Naique ji''s sad demise is really heartbreaking news for all Indians. Pray to God to rest his soul in peace. Wonder why he was not in contact with his family/relative for such a long time! However, it is always good to keep details of family or next to kin (whom can be contacted in emergencies inside the passport.

RIP.
My NRI Colleagues, please don''t follow this way at all as long as we stay abroad.
More than 80% of bachelors use sharing accommodation while abroad with no close relatives with them, It is mandatory to share at least 1 contact number of our relatives (of abroad or India) with our room-sharing partner.
