Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Mars can be seen in Kuwaiti skies

The Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center announced the appearance of four bright planets adorning the sky of Kuwait these days. They can be seen with the naked eye with brightness similar to the luminosity of stars with a difference in glow. They are Jupiter and Saturn, giants of the solar system, in addition to Venus and Mars.

The general supervisor of the center, Khaled Al-Jama’an, said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency that Venus can be seen with the naked eye immediately after sunset for half an hour, while Saturn can be seen at 10:18 in the evening . He indicated that the planet Jupiter, which continues to exist in the sky from sunset until 1:23 a.m., and finally Mars, which appears at 5:35 p.m. and disappears in the morning with sunrise.

Al-Jama’an reported that Mars, the second-smallest planet in the solar system, will increase in brightness in the sky and reach its peak brightness next month. It appears these days in the sky as a bright red star, due to the availability of large amounts of iron oxide in the composition of its rocks. He stated that the planets Jupiter and Saturn will shine in a distinctive way and are called the guardians of the earth, as their great gravity allows them to attract any body or celestial stone heading towards the earth, which makes us relatively safe from the risk of devastating collisions.

Al-Jama’an mentioned that the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center will organize special days to monitor these planets, whenever weather conditions permit. The Space Museum at the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah Center displays scientific information about the planets of the solar system and space flights with the latest means, in addition to astronomical devices and equipment that are used to monitor and document astronomical phenomena.
