Indo-Kuwait: The Bond between Two Countries

In the past 13 years of my life, I have come across a beautiful country that is… (any guesses?)…… KUWAIT. Yes, you read it right. Whoever might be reading my article must be living in Kuwait or once did. Being Indians in Kuwait, we can proudly say that this country has been our second home. Not only Indians and Kuwaitis share a good bond as well as the countries share a close bond too.

Well we cannot really deny, that Kuwait maintained close bonds with many countries and has been a safe and secure country for people. For Indians, this country is one of the best choice to reside in. Coming to the India-Kuwait relationship, in the past decades when the oil weren’t discovered in Kuwait, Indo–Kuwaiti trade circled around trade in agricultural goods, textiles and horses.

Now, India has been a natural trading partner of Kuwait and did you know until 1961 Indian Rupee was the legal tender in Kuwait. Apart from the information. Prime Minister of India expressed confidence that India-Kuwait friendship will be further strengthened after the death of the Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah.

With the governments and people maintaining a close bond between India and Kuwait, it will always remain good friends. There has also been regular high level bilateral state visits between the two countries. Moreover, Indians form one of the largest expat communities in Kuwait numbering around 640,000 people. Their being there in white collar jobs have been growing constantly particularly in the electronic, industrial, architectural and engineering sectors. Kuwait's Ministry of Health also employs a noteworthy number of Indian medics and paramedics. Indians have been styled by the Emir's special envoy as having learned a special space in Kuwait as "a brilliant and the least problematic expatriate community which works for the overall development of Kuwait".

Besides Indian public sector companies have offices in Kuwait too. After all this, we wish that this bond be maintained between these two beautiful countries in the coming future too.
