Indian minister Smriti Irani welcomes Kuwaiti investments

Indian Textiles Minister Smriti Irani on Wednesday welcomed Kuwaiti investments in her country's textiles sector.

In a statement to KUNA, Kuwait Ambassador to India Jassim Al-Najim said following his meeting with Minister Irani, at the capital New Delhi, that the two discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation and that India welcomes Kuwaiti investments in various fields, especially in the textiles industry.

Indian-Kuwaiti relations are witnessing a remarkable development at all levels through the efforts made by the leaderships of both countries to push relations towards further progress and development, the ambassador said.

Kuwaiti petrochemical companies play an important role in providing raw materials for the Indian textile industry at fair international prices with high quality services for the Indian polyester and textile industry over the past two decades, he stressed.

They also established a long-term partnership to support small and medium industries by providing primary raw materials, especially glycol, Al-Najim added.
