Indian Student from Kuwait to attend

Indian student from Kuwait Nihal Kamal has been officially nominated to participate in the prestigious Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) 2025, which was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in Bihar, in presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar, Hon’ble Union sports and youth affairs minister, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Hon’ble Union Minister of State Srimati Rakhsha Khadse and several dignitaries.

Promising young athlete Nihal Kamal is a Class 12 student of Fahaheel Al-Watanieh Indian Private School (DPS), Kuwait.

Recognized as India’s second-largest multi-sport event after the National Games, KIYG serves as a launchpad for the country’s most promising young athletes.

Nihal Kamal has been nominated by the National Sports Federation, New Delhi, as one of the top 16 athletes across India to compete in the 100m sprint in athletics. His selection reflects his outstanding track record, discipline, and relentless pursuit of excellence. It also marks a significant milestone in his sporting journey and a moment of pride for the Indian community in Kuwait.

At the recently concluded 27th CBSE Kuwait Cluster Athletics Meet, Nihal delivered a record-breaking performance in the 100m U17 Boys category, smashing a 21-year-old record. He now holds records in both the 100m and 200m events in his age group. He clinched gold medals in the 100m and 200m sprints, led his team to a gold in the 4x100m relay, and earned a bronze in the 4x400m relay. For the third consecutive year, he was declared the Individual Champion, further cementing his status as one of the region’s most dominant youth athletes.

Nihal has also made a mark beyond school-level competitions, representing Al Sahel Club in events organized by the Kuwait Athletics Federation. His accomplishments include two golds and a bronze medals in the 100m, silver in the 300m, and bronze in the 4x100m relay at the Kuwait Youth Championship. He also secured a gold in the U19 4x100m relay at the Kuwait Federation Cup and a silver in the 200m at the 2025 Youth Championship.

As a registered member of both the Athletics Federation of India and the Kuwait Athletics Federation, Nihal continues to pursue his passion with dedication. Earlier this year, he placed 4th in the U18 National Athletics Championship in India and finished 5th in the CBSE National U17 100m event held in Varanasi in 2024.

With his nomination to KIYG 2025, Nihal Kamal brings not only his medals and accolades but also the hopes and aspirations of a vibrant sports-loving Indian community in Kuwait. His journey is a shining example of how talent, when nurtured with discipline and passion, knows no borders.
