Indian Sports network (ISN) under Embassy of India organized a condolence meet on the passing away of Padma Shree Late Shri Milkha Singh.
Milkha Singh, one of independent India's biggest sporting icons, died of COVID-19 complications on Friday, 18th June 2021.
The passing of sporting icon Milkha Singh fills my heart with grief. The story of his struggles and strength of character will continue to inspire generations of Indians. My deepest condolences to his family members, and countless admirers,” Ambassador Sri Sibi George said during the condolence meet. His life has fascinated each generation of India since our independence, Ambassador said.
The condolence meet was attended by number of Indians from all walks of life and sports enthusiast.
Indian Sports Network (ISN) proposes to dedicate this year’s tournaments in solemn memory of legendary athlete Padma Shri Milkha Singh. ISN has planned many activities for this year including badminton tournament, cricket tournament and chess tournament.
