Indian Engineers residency issue: Embassy followup continues

Sunday, May 20, 2018

In its followup meeting by the Indian Embassy in Kuwait with the Public Authority of Manpower (PAM) on the issue of NBA accreditation and actual processing of residency extension through Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE), PAM conveyed its willingness to consider longer extension of residencies and also in a way that families are not adversely affected.

Source from Indian Embassy informed that the a followup discussion was held last week in which PAM has requested for a fortnightly list of residencies which would be expiring shortly so as to ensure that no engineer has to leave the country while the final resolution of the matter is awaited.

In this regard, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait informed that those Indian Engineers whose residencies are expiring in the next 2-3 months are requested to forward their details to Kuwait Engineers’ Forum (KEF) as advised in this Embassy’s previous notification of 10th May by sending the details to [email protected]

Embassy also informed that any individual and specific issues concerning NOC, the contact person in the Embassy is Shri Yashwant Chatpalliwar, Second Secretary (PIC& Community Affairs/Consular at his email [email protected] or on telephone at 22550171.

What about the colleges that have NBA accreditation?

I graduated in 2012. My college had accreditation from 2008 to 2011.

So should I need to write the examination?

why Indian embassy is not taking up this issue to higher level. Moreover what our ministers are doing??????
Without our engineers, Kuwait cannot able to run the oil field.

Please take some strong decisions, like Philippines.

The whole Indian Engineering community is enraged not because of this stipulation alone, more because of mere lip service given by Embassy and lack of support from our Govt. This is a huge letdown from the authorities who are expected to support NRI community. In any discussion, reference is made to Western countries and of late Philippines who stand with their people.

My visa interview was done on 14-5-2018.
I got the information today (21-5-2018) that my NOC is ready. My company told me to send my passport to change the visa from 14 to 18. As my residency was expiring on 13-5-2018, my company had stamped temporary visa (visa 14) for 3 months from 8-5-2018.

I am from NIT and I do not want to beg in front of them. I was already tested in india and my certificates were already verified and approved by kuwait government.

In the beginning of this new rule, I decided I will not go to KSE, instead I will quit the country because KSE was taking original certificates and was not giving any acknowledgement, and that too after a lot of fighting after standing in long queue. Also there were rumors that we were to undergo technical test.

Later KSE allowed to submit employees'' documents by their company. Also declared that no test for senior people and hence, I handed over copies of the certificates to my company(Heston).

I was called for interview on 14-5-2018 and till now (21-5-18) there is no news from kse or my company. Interview was simple and they asked about my experiences only.

It was an ordeal in standing, waiting, moving from one room to the other and again back and forth because no guidelines where to go and what to do. Everything was done by just trial and error.

If I am given a consultancy job of 2-3 days in KSE, I can solve the entire confusions now prevailing in KSE. But who cares !!!.

I went to the embassy on Thursday. The only thing which they are doing is asking us to fill in a form and submit it along with other documents such as copies of Degree certificates, civil id copies etc. After submitting the form they are saying we will follow up with you. They have made a list of engineers whose visa is expiring or has expired and are on article 14 and they will submit it to kse to hasten up these people''s process. That''s it. No further lead after that.

As per the message the issue is not going to solve in coming months,bz its mentioned that "longer Extension".Nothing mentioned for the people who came n new Visa and the people transferring from one company to another. Also what about our families Visa and Vacations? so everything will be a problem. If we changed the designation, most probably Driving licence will e canceled,so what will be the solution?

Same like our Embassy told " Be calm and patient",but up to when nobody knows.

The situation in KSE is really pathetic now also. When I went for interview last Monday it was not known which room to go and whom to meet etc. They said us ''go to next building'' , That is all.
No name for any building. The rooms are not numbered to identify which room to go and for what. The said us go to the room and sit. In fact there were no seats vacant to sit , full of crowds. Then somebody said us to go to ''Other building'' . No name or number for buildings and rooms. After a few hours, somebody started distributing some forms. I also took one. I just filled it up. I did not know where to submit the filled up forms.
etc.
