Indian Embassy in Kuwait issued an advisory for the Indian Workers in Kuwait regarding keeping the passport in their possession. According to the advisory, Embassy advise Indian workers not to handover their Passport to the Employer.

The Advisory says the below:

-Indian Passport is a sovereign document and property of the Government of India.

-Labour laws of Kuwait also prohibit Employers from keeping Passport of Employees, except with the express

consent of the Employee.

-Do not hand over your Passport to your Employer, unless you want to. Please keep your Passport in your possession.
