
The Indian Embassy in Kuwait organized a special Ramadan gathering on Monday evening, led by Ambassador Dr. Adarsh Swaika, to foster diplomatic ties and cultural exchange.
The event was graced by esteemed guests, including members of the Kuwaiti Royal Family, ministers, senior government officials, ambassadors, and heads of diplomatic missions. Among the notable attendees were Kuwait’s Oil Minister Tariq Al-Roumi, Farwaniya Governor Sheikh Dhabi Nasser Al-Sabah, Advisor to Amiri Diwan, UnderSecretary of Defence, UnderSecretary of Information, CEO of NBK, CEO of Kuwait Finance House, prominent Kuwaiti business heads among others.

In India, a land of diverse religions and cultures, Ramadan holds deep significance, highlighting the country’s vibrant pluralism as home to the world's second-largest Muslim population. It symbolizes the spirit of unity in diversity, where people of different faiths and backgrounds live in harmony. In Kuwait, the Indian community upholds the tradition of hosting Iftars and Ghabqa during Ramadan, reflecting the strong cultural and people-to-people ties between the two nations.

The gathering underscored the significance of Ramadan as a time for unity and strengthened relationships. Guests highlighted the importance of such events in deepening ties between India and Kuwait, reinforcing shared values of friendship and cooperation.

The event showcased the Indian way of celebrating the month of Ramadan with Indian instrumental music and cuisine. The live music was performed by Indian artists on classical Indian musical instruments of flute, tabla and violin with tunes of yesteryear famous Bollywood songs. The cuisine included live-cooking of Indian delicacies, including some which is popular both in India and Kuwait.
Ambassador Dr. Adarsh Swaika warmly welcomed the attendees and engaged in meaningful discussions, reflecting the spirit of the holy month and the embassy’s commitment to diplomatic engagement.
