
The Executive Council of the Indian Dentists' Alliance in Kuwait (IDAK) had the privilege of meeting the Honorable Minister of Health, Kuwait, Dr. Ahmad Abdulwahab AlAwadhi, at his office on 16 December 2024, to discuss IDAK’s ongoing activities and contributions. The meeting was graced by the presence of the Assistant Undersecretary of Dental Administration, Dr. Ahmad Asad.
IDAK was represented by President - Dr. George P. Alex, General Secretary - Dr. Jijan Sam Thomas, Vice President - Dr. Roshila Mariam Mathew, Joint Secretary - Dr. Amrita Geevarghese and President Elect - Dr. Shalin Anna Simon.
The delegation briefed the Minister about the comprehensive activities of IDAK, emphasizing the release of the 9th Oral Health Guide, titled Decoding Dental Pain: Care to Cure. Additionally, the Minister viewed the video montage of IDAK’s cultural show, Cinephilia, which was featured during the Oral Health Guide release event. He expressed his admiration towards the creative excellence of the show.

Dr. AlAwadhi commended IDAK for its dedication to enhancing the professional and personal lives of Indian dentists in Kuwait through scientific, cultural, and sports events. He also appreciated IDAK’s commitment to serving the broader community through various community outreach initiatives and efforts to enhance dentistry in Kuwait through Scientific activities.
The Minister graciously accepted IDAK’s invitation to attend the Felicitation Ceremony of the 5th IDAK International Scientific Symposium. Scheduled for April 25, 2025, this prestigious event will be held at the Al Hashemi Ballroom, Hotel Radisson Blu, and is open to all dentists in Kuwait. The symposium will feature esteemed speakers from India and Kuwait, making it a significant platform for professional pursuits.

To commemorate the release of the Oral Health Guide and the success of Cinephilia, the IDAK Council presented the Minister with a memento. In return, Dr. AlAwadhi awarded a special memento to IDAK, recognizing its outstanding service to the field of dentistry, dental practitioners, and the community at large.
The meeting was a testament to IDAK’s unwavering commitment to promoting excellence and fostering collaboration within the dental fraternity in Kuwait, Indian Dental professionals in particular, and with the authorities in Kuwait.
