Former Union Cabinet Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reshaped India's educational landscape through the National Education Policy, asserting that it is not a mere policy but a roadmap to make India a "knowledge superpower".
He was in Kuwait addressing the Education Excellence Award 2024: Kuwait Edition on Friday at FAIPS DPS Auditorium.

Highlighting the path breaking and reformative steps taken by the Modi Government in the education sector, Shri Naqvi said that Hon. Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi has reshaped India’s educational landscape through the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. NEP is not just a policy; it isa roadmap to make India a global knowledge superpower; the policy is based on five pillars- access, equity, quality, affordability, and accountability.
Shri Naqvi, a former Union Cabinet Minister of Minority Affairs, said that because of efforts for educational empowerment made by the Modi Government, the literacy rate for religious minorities is more than 85% in the last ten years, and literacy rate of Indian Muslims is more than 80%, literacy rate of Muslims in India has jumped from 59% to more than 80%, and drop-out rate of Muslims students specifically girls has decreased drastically.
