IES Pays Tribute to the Mahatma on his 150th Birth Anniversary

“Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologize for being correct, or for being years ahead of your time. If you are right and you know it, speak your mind.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Indian Educational School, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kuwait, celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation on October 2, 2019. The Primary section presented a special assembly on the theme ‘Truth always prevails’ depicting the life of the great man of India who lived on the principles of ahimsa and truth. A devotional ambience prevailed as the morning prayer started with, ‘Vaishnava Janato’, Gandhiji’s favourite bhajan, beautifully rendered by the school choir. Through a small yet exceptionally amazing skit (based on an incident from Gandhiji’s childhood), the students, showcased the relevance of Gandhiji’s teachings in the modern era. The skit demonstrated the valuable lessons that can be imbibed by the ‘Netizens’. The solemn celebration concluded with Principal, Mr. T. Premkumar’s address on the philosophical and pragmatic ideals of Gandhiji.
