Hundreds of Indian Nurses complains termination without notice period

IIK Staff Reporter Tuesday, February 28, 2017

Hundreds of Indian nurses working in Farwaniya hospital complained to Indian Embassy in Kuwait for the unexpected termination by the contracting company. The Nurses were recruited by the contracting company five years back on a three year contract. Last two years, company made annual renewal of their contract. On Sunday, the company officials informed that the contract period is over and nurses have to leave the country within three days while they were expecting another renewal term like in previous years.

Since the official contracting period is over, the nurses are unable to make any complaint against the company. However the sudden loss of job without any prior information has put them in a real soup, they told.

Many of them are here with their children studying in various schools in Kuwait. The company asked them to leave country within 3 days while many of their kids are attending the annual exams here. Even though the nurses have valid visa till August, the company is not ready to give release, they complained. Many of the nurses have also complained that they had paid more than Three Lakhs Indian rupees to the agents before coming to Kuwait.

As these nurses have got sufficient experience, they shall be made permanant, so that MOH need not spend money for new recruitment process. If MOH Officials are upright in their character, this can happen.

Indian Embassy not of any help and will not do anything ... All the affected nurses immediately send a help request to Sushma Swaraj and do not sign any papers from this company. Else approach Ministry of Social Affairs ... No one can send you out of the country in 3 days..

you people may ask your company that where is the Kuwait labor law, it is clearly written that employer has to give 3 months time before termination, and if employee is leaving the company that time also employee has to work three months time after resign.

Dear Indians,
Only option is that , before entering to Kuwait, everybody should have enough knowledge about their visas in Kuwait. The local rules and regulations guidance should be given by India Embassy India as well as in Kuwait.

Gulf countries are fully depend on your luck, if you got good management and Co. u will get success. Otherwise your entire life will be destroyed .

Indian Embassy need to prepare list of companies, who is making harassment plus not paying salary. Need to stop any paper works for these companies........
