The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, recently honoured renowned Indian doctor, Dr. Remesh Pandita, for his exceptional contributions to Kuwait's healthcare sector. In a ceremony attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Dr. Pandita was presented with a memento on the occasion of his retirement, marking the culmination of over three decades of service.
Dr. Pandita, who graduated from the University of Kashmir, India, in 1977 and earned his MD from PGIMER, Chandigarh, in 1982, has been a prominent figure in the Hematology Department at the Kuwait Cancer Control Center, where he worked for 32 years. Throughout his career, he dedicated his expertise to the treatment and follow-up care of blood cancer patients, with a special focus on leukemia and myeloma.
Dedicating his professional life to treating and following up on blood cancer patients, especially leukemia and myeloma, Dr Pandita also trained many doctors and specialists in Kuwait in cooperation with the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization, the Ministry of Health said on his retirement.
Dr. Pandita also served as the former president of the Indian Doctors Forum Kuwait, a platform representing Indian doctors practicing in Kuwait. His leadership and contributions to the medical community have left an indelible mark on both the healthcare sector and the Indian diaspora in Kuwait.
