Federation of Indian Muslims organized an iconic Iftar

FIMA – Federation of Indian Muslim Associations has arranged an iconic Iftar on 14.05.2019 at Crowne Plaza, Farwaniya wherein HE Ambassador of India, Sri Jeeva Sagar along with ambassadors of Canada, South Africa, Guayana had attended. Opening with recitation of verses from Holy Quran by Master Bassel, Fima Secretary General Mr. Mohammed Hanief welcomed the gathering. He briefed FIMA is an umbrella organization representing twenty regional organizations representing India. Its main objective is to maintain unity & integrity, avoid duplication of work with an effort to guide the community towards peaceful co-existence in order to strengthen the social fabric. To achieve these objectives, FIMA hosts events concentrating on inter-socio-cultural activities such as this Iftar. Through this, FIMA gives a platform to multicultural and multiregional personalities to interact, learn and respectfully appreciate the differences for a harmonized coexistence. FIMA strongly believes diversity is strength not a weakness.

The presidential address by Br. Kareem Irfan has stressed the importance of secularism in India, as a “common faith” intertwining all of the communities despite differences. HE Ambassador Shri Jeeva Sagar has reiterated the phrase secularism as the “common faith” of India which encompasses the beauty of India’s Cultural values.

Earlier Mr. Shivy Bhasin, Chairman of Indian Business & Professional Council, Kuwait- exclaimed that fasting in Ramadan has lot of social, moral & humanitarian values. Dr. Sharfuddin in his address applauded the impacts of fasting on human mind and body. Mr. Hussam Al Mutawwa, a religious scholar from Jamaiyatul Islah, has delivered a short lecture on humanitarian values through fasting in Ramadan. Ex-MP Mr. Nasser Al Sane has reminded the elite audience and community leaders about the unforgettable times of strong Indo-Kuwait relations.

Lastly, the program concluded with vote of thanks by FIMA vice president Dr. Hidayatullah followed by a delectable Iftar Dinner.
