The Public Relations Department of the Kuwait Municipality announced that the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department in Farwaniya Governorate has carried out a field inspection campaign targeting violations related to bachelor housing. As part of the campaign, authorities took all necessary regulatory measures against violators to ensure compliance with municipal laws and regulations.
According to the department, a specialized inspection team conducted field visits across multiple areas, focusing on properties suspected of housing non-family tenants in zones designated for private and model housing. The inspections led to the disconnection of electricity to 16 properties in the Al-Firdous area that were found to be in violation of the law, following the issuance of prior warnings.
The action was taken under the provisions of Decree Law No. 125 of 1992, which strictly prohibits non-family individuals from residing in private and model residential areas. The law renders any rental agreements made in contravention of these rules as null and void. In cases where violations are detected, the municipality is authorized to cut off electricity to the offending property.
