When the world grapples with insidious virus, the psychological scars it can inflict on people, especially on children, because of the social distancing measures and disruption of normalcy it brings in its wake, could be gruesome. To keep the students engaged during these difficult times and to reduce their anxiety FAIPS (DPS) organized an online Art Competition for the students of Grades 1 to 12 on the theme ‘United against CORONA - Express through Art’. The competition provided a platform to the students to express their emotions, feelings, ideas and innovative thoughts on COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing, quarantine and the fight against the virus through the medium of Art and showcase their versatile artistic talents.

The online competition which was conducted from 9th April to 20th April, 2020 received an overwhelming response with a massive participation of 245 students. Results of the competition will be declared on the school website shortly. Mr. Ravi Ayanoli, Principal said that short-listed art works will be forwarded to Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), India, for their review and to showcase them online and physical exhibitions in national level galleries in India and abroad. Attractive prizes will be awarded to the winning entries.

In another attempt to revive the colourful ambience of the school environment at home, and to celebrate the influence of mothers in the Society, FAIPS (DPS) organized a duet singing competition for the students of Grades 5 to 12 and IGCSE on the theme “Mother’s Day”. The competition required the participants to submit a video recording of their duet song sung with their mother in any language. The duet singing competition which remained open from 22nd to 30th April, 2020 invited many moms and kids to take part in the competition. It provided a platform to the students to showcase their musical talents and to cherish the memorable moments with their mothers. Class wise winners of the competition will be declared on the school website shortly.

While finalizing the results of the competitions, Mr. Ravi, Principal appreciated the Music and the Art departments for organizing such meaningful competitions during the stressful pandemic days for the students.
