“f you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea,

I'll sail the world to find you

If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see,

I'll be the light to guide you

Find out what we're made of

When we are called to help our friends in need

You can count on me like 1 2 3

I'll be there

And I know when I need it I can count on you like 4 3 2

And you'll be there

Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah

If you toss and you turn and you just can't fall asleep

I'll sing a song

beside you

And if you ever forget how much you really mean to me

Everyday I will

remind you

Find out what we're made of

When we are called to help our friends in need

You can count on me like 1 2 3

I'll be there

And I know when I need it I can count on you like 4 3 2

You'll be there

Cause that's what friends are supposed to do”

Friend, a word that is very well know in the English language. A word that makes someone feel special, or someone happy and joyful or just amazing, even if it’s just for a moment.

This word can lighten up a person’s gloomy day, or probably help a person in need, or even just a smile, can make a person forget his/her problems,

We all, long for a friend, wethere it’s our parents, our siblings, our neighbours, or even a stranger. As long as we have some one to share something that we probably cant handle all alone, or a big secret, which we believe only our true friends wont tell.

We as teenagers, have loads of friends, and why shouldn’t we, after all we live in the 21st century and the services provided us through the internet such as the various web portals, Facebook, Twitter, Orkut, Skype, Yahoo and various other such internet social networks, that keeps us all linked.

Not only this, our ways of communicating have also made it so easy for us to stay in touch, gadgets such as mobiles, telephones and loads other have been provided to us, so that we remain in touch with each other.

So its very less often that you find someone without a friend, and if you do, it’s probably our grandparents or some elderly people who have either each other or no one, that’s what we I usually hear my friends say.

I mean us teenagers not having friends is like something abnormal, we usually are treated as social outcasts and hence right now, at this time and age no one is alone.

Cause friends are people you grow old together with, some of us fall in love with and some of us just remain in touch and are present for each other in good and in bad times.

And to mark and celebrate this really amazing bond of all of us together, we celebrate in the month of august, a special day, where all around the world we renew our friendship, and tie on each other wrists friendship bands just a basic mark or sign to show that yes we are friends and will always remain.

So lets all raise our friendship bands and take oaths to be friends for life and wish each other, my dear friends, a Happy Friendship day!!
