The dust storm on Sunday evening significantly reduced visibility at Kuwait International Airport, leading to the diversion of three incoming flights to Dammam Airport in Saudi Arabia.
Director of the Air Navigation Department, Dawood Al-Jarrah, confirmed that all precautionary measures were implemented in line with top international safety and security standards to safeguard passengers and aircraft amid the unstable weather conditions.
Due to visibility dropping below 300 meters, two Air Cairo flights arriving from Assiut and Cairo, along with an IndiGo flight from Delhi, were unable to land and were rerouted to the nearest available airport in Dammam.
Despite the dust storm, other scheduled flights were able to land safely at Kuwait International Airport.
