Do Meditation with Yoga to make your body and mind healthy, says Fahad Al-Duaij

When the whole world is passing through a hard time, no doubt that we need to keep both our body and mind peaceful. Here is Mr Fahad Jamal Al-Duaij, who not only keeps his body and mind healthy but also helping others to be in peace of mind during these challenging times.

"This Yoga and Meditation helps me to know the purpose in my life. I want to live a life for a good purpose rather than living a random life. I got inspired by this and started practicing Meditation for more than 12 years now," Mr Fahad Al-Duaij said in an exclusive chat with Indiansinkuwait.com

Mr Fahad was a regular member at Hilton health club. While doing all the exercise there, he got an opportunity to attend a Meditation workshop at the Hilton club organized by Dr Mihir Acharya - a Heartfulness Trainer. "I continue with my exercise at Hilton, but this Meditation technique attracted me more as it gave me a new awareness about my mind," Fahad said.

"Fahad was practicing different forms of Meditation before. Seeing his keen interest in this, and after several personal meditation sessions, he started his meditation practice the Heartfulness Way," said Dr Mihir.

"I want to enjoy my life holistically. You are not just physically fit, but you need to be fit mentally too. Meditation is a relationship between your body and mind. It is about Social wellness, emotional wellness," said Fahad.

In 2019, Fahad travelled to Hyderabad in India and visited "Kanha Shanti Vanam”, the Global Head Quarters of Heartfulness and the world's largest meditation center. Fahad attended the Training workshop there and was very much impressed with it. "It was a great feeling. I met new culture, new friends... I got an opportunity to dive into Meditation fully," Fahad said. He got an opportunity to read a lot of books at the center and at the concluding session, he was certified to be a Meditation Trainer. He met and interacted with the Global Guide of Heartfulness Mr. Kamlesh Patel, popularly known as “Daaji”. It was a precious experience in my life, he said.

Later in 2020, few months before the Corona pandemic, Fahad revisited the Center at Hyderabad to attend their 75th anniversary. "I met many other Arab practitioners also at this center and we were gladly exchanging our experience with meditation," Fahad said.

Now I am happy that I can help people to enjoy leading a good healthy, and peaceful life. It is about a good relationship. If your friend is good, your body and mind will be good, said Fahad, who now trains many people on Meditation. "I share my personal experience on my practice to many of my friends and they are all inquisitive to practice. I offer my service eagerly to my friends, including Kuwaitis and other nationalities. They are all now happy and continuing this," Fahad said.

"Heart is the center of our emotions and feelings. What we are characterized is driven by our heart, and this is where Heartfulness stands out," Dr Mihir, who is also the Global Director of Aanant Foundation for Alternative Medicine and Alleviation (AFAMAR) said. "At Heartfulness, all our services are free, and we don't charge any money. It is a voluntary service," Dr Mihir said. Currently, due to the pandemic situation and following Government guidelines, all our training and various meditation sessions are offered through Virtual medium. Earlier, our Group Meditation used to happen in various centers in Kuwait. There are more than 1000 members of various nationalities attending different sessions of Heartfulness.

Fahad, who does not follow any particular food habits, believes in a balanced diet. Even though recommended for Yoga practice is to eat a vegetarian diet, Fahad says balancing everything in the right quantity is his approach. "Don't eat anything too much. It should be a balanced diet," Fahad said.

For those who always complain about their busy schedule as an excuse for not doing Meditation, Fahad says that you can do the Meditation at any time of the day. It is better to do it early morning. Evening is also a good time for those who cannot do it in the morning. Fahad spends a minimum of one hour a day for his Meditation.

Meditation is the need of the hour in these Pandemic times for stress free life and to make us stronger from the inside to face the challenges ahead, said Fahad.

As the Indian Embassy is celebrating the International Day of Yoga on 18th of June, Fahad appeals to all his friends to join the Yoga day celebration virtually at 10 am through Indian Embassy Social Media Handles. He urges everyone to mix Meditation along with Yoga for both the physical and mental benefits. "Yoga makes your body fit, but meditation makes you mentally fit," Fahad said. It is very important to keep your mind also healthy. Mixing Meditation with Yoga can make both your body and mind healthy, Fahad said.
