Diwali, is also known as Deepavali celebrated all over India symbolizing defeat of evil. We celebrate Diwali because on this day Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. Diyas are the important item for decoration for Diwali that symbolizes existence of positivity and victory of light over darkness. NRI’s decorate their houses with diyas and candlesto fill their home with joy, love, happiness, and light.
People also buy gold and silver coins at that day for prosperity and good luck in life. There are Lord Ganesha and Godess Lakshmi drawn on the coins.
They also worship Godess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha for wealth and wisdom in their houses and also sends traditional sweets and gifts for happiness.
