Deserted look at Airport as entry ban for non-Kuwaitis continues

With the last-minute extension of the entry ban for non-Kuwaitis to the country, Kuwait International airport recorded less passenger traffic yesterday.

According to reports, the travel and tourism agencies and hotels incurred huge losses again as a result of cancelling ticket and hotel reservations on the eleventh hour. Sources said that over 2,500 passengers were registered at the "Kuwait Mosafer" platform to enter Kuwait in the coming days.

On Sunday, Feb 21st, 35 flights arrived in the country, mostly with fewer passengers and 34 flights departed.

The private hotel had arranged cars at the Airport to transport the incoming passengers to their respective hotels for quarantine. According to the report, on day one, a limited number of citizens only arrived the country, whereas large numbers of domestic workers arrived in the country on day one.

Meanwhile, Al-Rai newspaper reported that a Kuwait Airways flight from America landed at T4 terminal with only one passenger. The passenger later shifted to a hotel for quarantine. Daily also reported that a flight from Dubai carry only three citizens as its passengers.

All arriving passengers were subjected to medical check at the Airport.
