Delay in paying salary; PAM closes files of 1,600 companies

Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has closed the files of 1,600 companies which work on government projects for failing to comply with laws governing the salary transfer of employees on time.

According to Annahar daily, its Labor Inspection Department has listed these companies under Code 703.

The daily added that the authority is serious in applying the law and holding accountable the violators in an attempt to arrange the labor market and to maintain the rights of its parties concerned, noting that closing the files with above-mentioned code will put an end to labor strikes.

Instead of closing the files, please try to stop paying the fund in each month to the Government contractors, according to their workers daily attendance. Now, the poor expats are working daily and the Contractor gets benefit from it. The contractor don''t care whether the file is closed or not. Vasta can make everything possible. Only poor people will suffer always.

The intention is good. But need to do a lot of homework before applying such blocking.
Authorities block files of 1600 companies. Each company will have minimum 10 workers.
So in effect minimum around 16,000 poor expats are affected. 16,000 ppl are not even getting their salaries properly for the past many months. Now they are in a position that they cant even transfer their akkama to another company. after few months their akkama will get expired and wont be able to renew becoz the company file is closed. soon they will become illegal residents.. police will catch them and put in jail and will deport after few months. next 5 to 6 months, they will not get their salary properly.. they will start doing all illegal business like liquor etc for a living...

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti owner of these 1600 companies will sit and relax without any tension as he already made huge money using these 16,000 poor expats... after few month, these owners will register a new company in a new name and will continue doing the same business...

May almighty god help the State of Kuwait!!

Great Move, but what is the next Step. Even after closure of file work goes on as usual in the company. It is only the employees who suffer as a result of closure of file as residence cannot be renewed. After closure of file follow up is required to ensure that the salaries are cleared.
