Darwaza Al-Abdulrazzaq intersection in Kuwait City is officially opened on Sunday by Governor of the Capital, Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah. The intersection had reopened to traffic late last year following years of construction.
The intersection and pedestrian tunnel were initially closed in 2020 by the Kuwait Municipality and the General Directorate of Traffic due to cracks that posed a collapse risk. Repairs began in September 2022.
The repairs focused on both the street and the tunnel beneath it to ensure the intersection’s safety and improve traffic flow.
The Governor of the Capital emphasized that the full reopening of the intersection had been completed with efforts made to ensure it met the highest quality and safety standards. He highlighted the project’s contribution to improving traffic flow in the area, which would have a positive impact on both citizens and residents.
