Constitution Day of India celebrated in Kuwait

Embassy of India, Kuwait, today celebrated the Constitution Day of India at its auditorium.

The event begins with floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by the Indian Ambassador Shri Sibi George.

Large number of community members including the representatives of Indian Association gathered at Embassy together read the preamble of constitution to celebrate India’s constitution.

“It is the framework within which India re-emerged as a major power overcoming the suppression and slavery imposed on 1/6th of the humanity that spanned over hundreds of years. This constitution has also provided India the necessary framework to which contributed to India’s achievements in diverse fields. And now during the devastating Covid 19 pandemic we have seen India emerging as the pharmacy of the world supplying our Made in India vaccines to 93 countries and Covid 19 related medicines and assistance to over 150 countries. And today we have given 120 crore (1.2 billion) doses of made in India vaccine within India,” Ambassador said in his inaugural remarks.

“It is a matter of pride for an Ambassador to say with confidence that the economic and scientific transformation India achieved was under a constitution which guarantees liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; equality of status and of opportunity, ” he added.

A short video clip on the making of India’s constitution were displayed during the event.

Ambassador also remembered the Mumbai terror attacks, which had taken place on this day in 2008. “We feel the pain of those who lost their loved ones in this terrorist attacks from across the border. Today a grateful nation bows to its security personnel who valiantly fought the terrorists. We continue to face the menace of cross border terrorism,” he said.

A short video clip paying tribute to Mumbai terror attack was also played during the event.

As part of the celebration of Constitution Day of India, a small photo gallery was also inaugurated at the Embassy library, which displays collection of memorable photos during the making of the constitution.

It''s good to celebrate Indian constitution day...!!
But we should give little bit respect to the person who wrote indian constitution.
