Conditions set for the collection of blood money

The committee formed to reconsider the procedures of collecting donations for the payment of blood money and related compensations has produced a comprehensive report on collection controls to be submitted to the Minister of Social Affairs. Later the report will be present to the Council of Ministers for approval.

According to local daily Al-Jarida, the report included proposals and opinions of relevant government bodies participating in the committee for organizing the collection process in order to be consistent with the laws governing charity work in the country. According to the recommendation, the process will be restricted to Kuwait only.

Some controls set by the committee includes the collecting donations for the benefit of blood money is treated according to the regulations and requirements of any charity project in the country, provided that applications are submitted from charitable bodies accredited by the ministry and not individuals, in addition to opening a bank account for that purpose- with a specific ceiling of the amount to be collected.

The rules also include prevention of cash collection in all its forms, so it should be collected within the headquarters of charitable societies and the establishment of a specific mechanism for the transfer of funds within the security system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
