Closure of lock down areas begin

Kuwait Army will take charge of isolating and securing the entire Farwaniya area, while the National Guard would be responsible for isolating and securing the Khaitan area from Sunday when these areas will be under total lock down. Ministry of the Interior will undertake to isolate and secure the areas of Mahboula, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Hawali and Al-Nugra, Al Qabas daily reported.

The Ministry of Public Works, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, started the process of setting concrete barriers on the entry and exit points of the new isolation areas, which include Hawalli, Khaitan, Farawaniyah and Hawalli to start the procedures of the total ban starting next Sunday.

In Hawally, concrete barriers will be placed on all roads overlooking the Fourth Ring Road, Fahaheel Road, Maghreb Highway, Third Ring Road, and the Cairo street. As for the Farwaniya area, its entrances and exits will be closed from Ghazali Road, Sixth Ring Road, Airport Road and Jordan Street. In Khaitan, the sources said that it will close the entrances overlooking the airport road and King Faisal Road.

Authorities will prevent workers who did not have exit permits from moving out of those areas.

Many expatriate Indians with accommodation already inside the areas, now have to continue and live within lock down areas and face the present situation of isolation.
