Charges for PCR test reduced to 20KD

The Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Fatima Al-Najjar, issued a circular stating that the charges of PCR test in the laboratories accredited by the Ministry should not exceed 20 KD.

Currently the laboratories are charging 24 to 26 KD for a PCR test in Kuwait.

She informed that this was based on the approval of the Minister of Health, Sheikh Dr. Basil Al-Sabah, based on the review of international and regional charges for conducting a PCR test.

A circular is issued for this purpose.

Even 20KD for RT-PCR is much higher, as compared to prices in other GCC countries.
