
The Cairo Street development project reached 93% of its completion and made a qualitative leap in serving the Capital and Hawalli Governorates, official spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works, Eng. Ahmed Al-Saleh said.
The project includes the construction of 5 ground bridges, an elevated bridge, in addition to 3 main underpasses.
The project extends over 9 km in length, and includes 7 pedestrian bridges, and 23 air-conditioned bus stops.
Other services such as rainwater and sewage lines, water and electricity networks were also developed and transferred in coordination with the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, and telephone lines in coordination with the Ministry of Transport. The presence of ornamental plants on the shoulders of the road adds beauty to the area.
