CBSE decided not to hold pending board exams abroad

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday announced that it will conduct the board examinations for only main subjects that will be required for promotion and may be crucial for admissions in higher educational institutions. The CBSE took the decision after a directive from the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD).

The Board also decided not to hold any more exams for the students of class 10 and 12 schools located outside India.

"There are several CBSE schools located in 25 countries. Each of these countries are also under lockdown and/or have decided to close down the schools for various and differential lengths of time. Under such circumstances, it is felt that the Board will not be in a position to hold differential set of exams for each of these countries. Also, in the present situation, it will be difficult to bring the answer books to India for evaluation purposes. Therefore, the Board has decided to not hold any more exams for the students of class 10 and 12 schools located outside India. The system of marking/assessment for the purpose of declaring results will be worked out by the Board shortly and informed to these schools" the press release said.

The exams were postponed in view of the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Dear TSNathan,
I have scored 500/ 500 in CBSE 12th Exam batch 1999 and I can tell you first hand that there is no excuse for not taking exam seriously. Unfavourable political situation is present around the world but still life goes on. Only we Indians know how to complain complain complain...

Even after scoring 500/ 500 without tuition, some of my teachers commented whether I will be able to score the same in my further studies. So you see, there is no excuse for exam be it poor teaching standards or lack of seriousness.

Most of the students not done well in the school term test or assessments they didn’t took seriously while preparing for the school test. Most of them in the comfort to perform better in the board exam, if board decides to consider those marks most of the students in Kuwait may face the issues on their %

Since this marks going to decide their future, boards should take the cautious call in their decision. How they are going to evaluate unattended subject if they leave to school there may be chance of partiality on the marks to each students

Also most of the students need to appear for entrance examination for which there is no center at Kuwait hence all should travel to India if they have to undergo the current quarantine procedure in India again may face the problems for attending the entrance examination

Our sincere request to CBSE board and all authority whoever conducts the entrance examination to consider all such constraints and issues of overseas students

Need fair and transparency in support from HR ministry and CBSE board in this regards considering future of all students
