Bhagavat Gita Competition Held at Bhavans

“What is the Gita about ?

Is it passive , or does it instigate one to be aggressive ?

It does neither of two !

The Bhagavat Gita says;

Dynamism With Calmness !

Sanskrit is a language of purity . It is an ancient language which is yet alive . Marking it’s importance , Bhavans had included Sanskrit as a main subject. This language is taught to students ranging from classes 5 to 10 .

This imperial language is taught by two prominent scholars Mr . Sunil Menonkumar and by Mr . Balaji at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan .There are lot’s of students learning Sanskrit at Bhavans . Many competitive competitions [ For example , students are asked to write articles to check their creativity in the formation of sentences or at times skits are also staged to check the acting skills , voice modulation and dialogue delivery . ] are held every year at Indian Educational school ,Kuwait .

Apart from that , many challenging , interesting events are also organized .

On 5th November the “ Gita chanting competition ” was held (Bhavans ) among the Sanskrit students ranging from classes 8th to 10th . The main purpose of this event was to check how the students pronounce the words in the respective slokas . The Gita could neither be sung nor recited .

The students were asked to recite the first ten slokas from chapter nine of the Bhagavat Gita . It was a mesmerizing competition , and moreover it was difficult for the eminent judge Mr. Sunil MenonKumar to decide the winners of the competition ..He had appreciated all the students for their active participation . He also said that the results would be announced after two days . And finally , the most awaited moment arrived for all the students . The suspense finally was revealed.

The prize winners list is as follows :

From 8th standard :

1st prize = SriVidya Venkata Bhuvanagiri

2nd prize = Varshni Murali Krishnan and Nihar Hareesh

3rd prize = Yogesh Sridhar , Anand Vinod and Mahisha Gunashekaran

From 9th standard :

1st prize = Sharat Ganesh

2nd prize = V. V.S Aditya

3rd prize = Sai Prasanna and Sravanthi

From 10th standard :

1st prize = Adidev Anand

2nd prize =Swara Rajeev and Adarsh Kulkarni

3rd prize = Amogh Diwakar and Deeksha Rao .

The winners were awarded certificates . The students expressed their deep felt gratitude towards the judge.

It was indeed a memorable day for all the students to recall the importance of the divine slokas said by Lord Krishna to the great warrior Arjuna .

Jayathu Samskrtam Vadathu Samskritam !!!!!!!

“Yogasthaha kuru karmani ………….

Samatvam yoga uchchayate ”

{ Bhagavat gita II .48 }

Meaning:

Perform your duty equipoised , O Arjuna , abandoning all attachment to success or failure . Such equality is called Yoga !
