Basketball Extravaganza  IBA 2019 Signed Off Successfully

The 7th Mega Basketball Tournament 2019 organised by the Indian Basketball Association came to a dramatic end, carrying with it a long saga of success stories, heartbreaks, to joy and cheer. The official closing ceremony on the 26th Of April was blessed with the presence of an array of dignitaries whose honourable presence motivated the athletes. Mr. Joel Jacob Manager, Oceanic Trading Company, Mr. Pradeep CEO Precon Engineering, Mr. C V Sunny Head Coach of Indian Team, Mr. Saji John Finance Manager UIS were among the dignitaries ramp. IBA 2019 Basketball journey ingrained sweet memoirs of fair, disciplined game of basketball. The immaculate indoor basketball court of UIIS reverberated with the victory hoots and howls of the vibrant hoopstars. Driven by its founder members Mr. D. K. Dileep (Gen. Secretary) and Mr. Sibi Kurian (President), Patron Mr. Koshy Abraham, Treasurer Mr. Anoop John, Jt. Secretary Mr. Sojan Sebastain & PRO Mrs. Usha Dileep where like-mindedness and a sense of belongingness reign supreme is the reason of consistent success all through these 7 years. The upward curve of progress and achievements of the IBA fraternity reflects the teams selfless service and dedication to uplift the game of basketball to the society.

To add more glamour and glitz to the basketball tournament we had an array of National and international players Rakesh, Amit, Fardeen who represent the Indian Railways Team, Sam, Aravind (Indian International), Jacob all flamboyant national basketeers showing their might and mettle playing professional basketball with their classy drive- ins, flabbergasting defence, diving shots, awe inspiring lay ups simply enthralling the spectators. The students from different Indian Schools in Kuwait, the open category tournament for men and women all were the highlight of the IBA tournament. The opening ceremony was solemnly graced by Adv. John Thomas - Manager UIS who welcomed the players and motivated them with his captivating words. IBA extends gratitude to Mr. THOMAS CHANDY MLA Chairman UIS, who sponsored all the trophies and also for providing such an immaculate Basketball court and all the required facilities needed for the same. We also bow in respect to Mr. Pradeep CEO Precon Engineering for sponsoring the IBA magazine, Mr. CV Sunny who sponsored all the balls for the tournament and indeed our all-time support and strength Metro Medical Care with their 24/7 medical assistance is indeed worth commendable, Mr Sunoj Nambiar Founder & Director Indians In Kuwait web portal exclusively for the Indian community whose magnanimity and down to earth demeanour truly supported our journey. Winning in 8 category and Second position in two categories, UNITED INDIAN SCHOOL won the prestigious SULAIMAN KALANDER AL KHANDERI EVER ROLLING TROPHY for the Inter School Champions. Well this long basketball journey which started on the 10th of April -26th April we thank all the magical hands who helped us all through .We the IBA fraternity seek the blessings and support of all our beloved sponsors, well-wishers ,parents ,friends, for all our forthcoming endeavours because we believe only being together we can conquer mountains and carve a niche in the world of sports.
