As the December 31 deadline approaches for expatriates to complete their biometric fingerprint registration, banks are gearing up to freeze the accounts of individuals who fail to comply.
As pr reports, the bank will start the process with a warning and partial block as second step and finally a full block on the account.
According to local Arabic media Al-Rai reports, banks will initiate sending a warning message to expatriates who did not perform biometric by next week. Starting from December 15th, banks will suspend all electronic banking channels, including stopping the display of account balances, obtaining account statements, and transferring funds between accounts.
In the 3rd step, banks will suspend all cards including credit and debit cards for those who did not complete the biometric registration before December 31st. During this period, violators will have no choice but to visit the bank branch to obtain funds from their balances until they correct their biometric fingerprint status to activate their cards.
