Every year, personalities who make comprehensive contributions to the field of stage drama are the recipients of the Artist Kesavan Memorial Awards. Playwright, director, social activist and a prominent presence among the Indian diaspora in Kuwait, Mr. Babuji Bathery along with playwright, director and author Meenambalam Santhosh, and playwright and teacher Ansar Ibrahim are the awardees of this year.
The award, which consists of Rs. 25,000, a sculpture and a certificate of appreciation, will be presented to the winners on June 22 at the auspicious venue at the K.P.S. Menon Hall in Kottayam and by the Hon. Minister of Kerala for Co-operation, Ports and Registration, V.N. Vasavan.
The organizers then announce that there will be a Kaithapram music night with songs composed by Kaithapram and composed by various music directors.
Numerous theatrical performances like Neethimaante Simhasanam, Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, Santa the Redeemer, Othello, Macbeth, and several others have been showcased on stage by Babuji Bathery, a pivotal organizer of various programs under Thanima Kuwait, along with social initiatives and service endeavors.
