Around 8,000 expatriates driving licenses withdrawn

Driving licenses of around 8,000 expatriates were withdrawn in the first half of this year as they did not meet the conditions for getting license. 50 driving licenses for Kuwaiti citizens were blocked during this period due to their visual or mental disabilities.

Expatriates driving licenses were withdrawn as conditions to obtain a driving license such as salary, profession and university degree which are a must to acquire license were not met after changing the job title.

The Traffic department also revoked driving license of expat students who have completed their studies and domestic workers who have been absconding from sponsors and work as a home delivery.
