Approval for expatriates to perform Umrah by land trips

The Ministry of Awqaf approved the recommendation to allow expatriates to travel by land through the Salmi border in order to perform Umrah.

The Ministry of Awqaf will make the necessary arrangements regarding the resumption of land trips in accordance with the health regulations.

Director of Hajj and Umrah Affairs Department Sattam Al- Muzayen announced the decisions of the Council of Ministers regarding the Covid-19 health regulations and the Ministry of Interior’s resolution number 358 in this regard without prejudice to the decisions and recommendations of the Council of Ministers, health authorities, competent authorities in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and circulars issued on the organization of Umrah trips. Following are the related decisions:

1. Allow residents to travel back and forth by land through those authorized to organize Umrah trips.

2. Adherence to the rules that the number of Umrah passengers does not exceed 50 percent of the capacity and maintain spacing between the seats.

3. Commitment to sterilizing the seats before the pilgrims board and wearing a mask during the course of the trip, while not allowing those who exhibit symptoms of Covid-19 and its variants.

4. The mechanism for approving the lists of pilgrims include sending a copy of the statement along with copies of the contract and visa for each pilgrim.
