The sound echoed in my ears, as people clapped away. I couldn’t blame them, for sitting 18 hours in a flight is too much, even for me. Now before you ask, I was travelling to USA, and our flight had just landed. The moment I stepped out, I knew something was different, something was special about this place. We were in Los Angeles, and trust me, it’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before. The place was filled, or more like flooded with trees and flowers, it was like your dream land, like those places you see in Disney, or Barbie, but much better, because it was real. Plus, the place was also filled with loads of libraries. They also gave free snacks when you go to read, and trust me, I could have started a shop with those vouchers, at the rate I read! The highlight of the place was Disneyland for me, or would have been for most, I guess.
We first went to Walk of Fame. Personally, I thought it was comparatively unclean, since the rest of US was really clean. There were so many beautiful places there, for instance, the Chinese theatre was kind of nice and there were also dressed up Darth Vader, Batman, Superman, etc., it felt a bit like entering Netflix. Next, we headed to Beverly Hills. It was really luxurious like, well……. I’d say it’s more like an open Avenues Mall here in Kuwait, but with more greenery. Otherwise, we spent the entire day outside and, in a few libraries, as well.
Next day, even though we didn’t really mean to do much, we went to Santa Monica Beach. But you’d think, I went for the FIFA World Cup. No, there were no footballers, no footballs, nor did I get Messi’s or Ronaldo’s autograph. It was flooded with people… no, wait! That’s an understatement. It was ultra flooded. But more than that, it was beautiful. You wouldn’t get tired of the place. We also went to a place called Long Beach, don’t ask me why it’s called so, it isn’t really the longest beach in the world. Well, the thing about the place was, there were children, or I’d say teenagers skate boarding by holding on to cars. Luckily, we escaped that bit of fun. I, for one, am not your average skateboarding kid. That evening, we went to an adventure city where the roller coaster was practically a free fall. I screamed like crazy. But my sister and I went on that rollercoaster for about 10 times. It was crazy fun.
@ Disneyland, Los Angeles
Today was one of the most exciting days, I am going to Disneyland! Ooh, and guess what, when we got there, seeing the rollercoasters I thought that they would be really scary, but it was really small for me, since I kind of got used to ‘scary rollercoasters’ the day before. Let me describe Disneyland my way, Disneyland is like “Earth”, and each ride is a “Country” with a different culture and story. Even the smallest of rides has a suspense, or scare, so if you ever visit, be prepared! Plus, each ride was so beautifully done that you feel like it’s really happening, but all the same, animated. Oh, and guess what, we got on a roller coaster after waiting for long, and well, they were like “it’s currently under maintenance, please come later” although we went on it after sometime, I was kind of cross. But other than that, I was happy and we spent the whole day there. I was so tired that day, I couldn’t even think about what had happened. But it had happened alright. After two days, we went to Arizona.
We are in Arizona now. I wanted to know what’s your opinion, think I am going crazy, or is the entire place going crazy? I saw a driverless car roaming around the streets. It’s not falling downhill either. Its scanning the entire place and driving, and people are travelling in it as well. Creepy!!! Americans call it “MODERN TECHNOLOGY”, I call it “BONKERS” or “GHOST”. We went to Arizona State University (ASU), and also some sort of a garden. Not just a garden, a cactus garden! Different cactuses all lined up. The so-called garden also had a ‘Hummingbird Park’ without hummingbirds, I had no idea that was possible. Next, we went to a place called ‘HOLE IN THE ROCK’. I was kind of horrified, we travelled all the way to see a hole in the rock? Man, I saw holes in rocks on a daily basis, but we went anyway. We hiked there for some time and reached there just in time for sunset. It was one of the best places I’ve seen. It’s actually a huge hole in a rock like formation in which people can sit and watch the scenery and sunset like a painting. You’ve got to hand it to them, they literally changed a molehill into a mountain!
Well, we finally went to Grand Canyon, by drive for 5 hours. While inhaling the beauty of the place, I felt the wind blow by, at the same time, somebody knocked me and I heard something click! But I just couldn’t understand what had happened. I slipped and lost my balance. I was almost done for when a strong arm caught my hand and then my other hand! I didn’t fall, score! Phew, I don’t think I am in a condition to continue. Sorry guys.
P.S., I will continue this travelogue a little later, because, as you may have realized, I’m not exactly in a great condition……… be sure to read and please don’t abandon me in the middle of the United States, or Grand Canyon to be exact…… it’s not very nice. Bye!
To be continued...
