Full transcript of Ambassador’s message is below:

My Greetings to all our nurses on the occasion of the International Nurses’ Day.

I begin by paying homage to our nurses who made the supreme sacrifice in their endeavor to save many lives from the unprecedented Covid 19 pandemic. In India and in Kuwait and all across the world we lost many of our medical professionals due to the pandemic. We salute them and pray for their families and friends.

On behalf of the government and the people of India and the Indian community in Kuwait, I thank each one of you. You have been working so hard and making so many personal sacrifices to save lives in this pandemic situation

The Covid 19 pandemic presents many new challenges such as long shifts with PPE Kits and changes in regular routines, placing tremendous physical and emotional stress on you and your families. You have adapted to the situation and have emerged as Covid 19 frontline warriors. You are our real heroes.

It is your courage and your compassion during this unprecedented crisis that brings solace and relief to many suffering patients. In that crucial moment of one’s life, when no family member or no relative can have access to a patient, it is the warmth of your personal touch that brings solace and comfort for many. I have heard so many stories where our nurses have gone beyond their call of duty and helped patients and their families during the crucial hours of their lives. You have been the connecting link for many in their last moments.

These are indeed extraordinarily difficult times. The fight against the pandemic is far from over. We are in the middle of the long tunnel, we can see light at the end of the tunnel, but there is a long way to reach there. Let’s remind ourselves every day that we can overcome this challenge by collective spirit and action. We need to vaccinate each and every one. We need to generate awareness about the virus by educating everyone. In this fight your resilience and everyday courage is what inspires us.

We pray for the good health and well-being of our nurses and other medical professionals. We cannot beat this pandemic without you. You are our frontline warriors. We salute you.

Thank you.
