Authorities have cited alcohol poisoning as the likely cause of death for two expatriates whose bodies were discovered on the rooftop of a building in Khaitan on Wednesday.
According to a security source, a forensic report confirmed that the individuals showed no signs of physical assault or foul play. The examination determined that the victims had likely consumed locally made, illicit alcohol.
The bodies were transferred to the forensic medicine department for further analysis, where toxicology results supported the conclusion of alcohol poisoning.
Investigators have launched a probe to trace the source of the contaminated liquor and identify those responsible for its distribution.
