Airline holds back luggage of many passengers on Kuwait – Chennai flight

Hundreds of passengers in Kuwait Chennai Air India Express flight missed their luggage after they arrive at Chennai as the flight they flew in had left behind their luggage in Kuwait.

The AI flight from Kuwait arrived at Chennai airport with around 176 passengers on Tuesday night. After immigration, they stood at the conveyor belt waiting for their luggage, and only 12 passengers received them.

An Air India Express spokesperson said, "Due to payload restrictions, some checked-in baggage could not be uplifted on one of the flights operating on the Kuwait–Chennai sector on Monday. We regret the inconvenience caused to our guests. Arrangements have been made to deliver the impacted baggage to the residences of the concerned guests at the earliest, at the airline’s expense."

Mr. Tony,
You are right.

On top of that AI giving statement that "SOME checked-in baggage could not be uplifted".

How it can be some when the nos. are 164?

I can understand 12 passengers NOT getting their baggage due to payload restrictions, but for 164 passengers not getting their luggage is outrageous. They must have taken more cargo on board to make money at the expense of the poor passengers.
