The Mobile phone subscription in Kuwait reached a total of 8.11 million people, who are subscribed to prepaid, postpaid and router packages of various service providers in the country.
According to latest statistics released by Al Anbaa, every 100 people in Kuwait have about 123.39 mobile phone subscriptions, which reflects the wide spread of technology in the local market.
The increase in phone subscriptions and one person owns more than two SIM cards reflects a positive indicator from an economic standpoint as it reflects a high level of connectivity and communication within the society.
The total number of mobile phone subscribers increased by about 387,400 in the year 2023, which is an increase of 5%, as the number was about 7.7 million subscribers at the end of 2022.
The data revealed that the total number of postpaid and prepaid mobile cellular subscriptions reached about 6.06 million subscribers by the end of 2023, compared to 5.58 million subscribers by the end of 2022.
The number of mobile broadband data (router) subscriptions reached about 2.05 million ubscribers during 2023 compared to 2.144 million subscribers at the end of 2022.
Meanwhile, the number of fixed broadband subscriptions for individuals decreased from 48,800 subscribers in 2022 to 34,220 subscribers by the end of 2023.
